Accuracy

What Enforcement.uk does to keep its content accurate, what the dates on each page mean, and how to report an error.

Enforcement law changes by statutory instrument, court fee order and procedure rule update, and a reference site is only useful if it keeps up. This page says what is actually done, and what the dates on each page mean.

What the dates mean

  • Last updated is the date the page's file last changed, for any reason.
  • Reviewed appears only where a person has read the whole page against the sources listed beneath it. A page without a reviewed date has not had that read since it was written, and should be checked against the primary source before it is relied on.
  • Sources are the documents read for the review: the Act or regulations on legislation.gov.uk, the court fee schedule (form EX50), the Civil Procedure Rules on justice.gov.uk. Nothing on this site is a substitute for reading them.

Fees and figures

Every fee, threshold and rate the site quotes is held in a single list, each with the instrument it comes from and the date it was last read. Pages quote from that list rather than carrying their own figure, so when the Fees Regulations or the court fee order change, the correction is made once and appears everywhere. Worked examples are marked as examples and are not the schedule.

The monthly check

Once a month the site is checked by hand against: the current court fee schedule and the Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations; the legislation.gov.uk change feeds for every Act and instrument the site cites, including commencement orders; the latest Civil Procedure Rules update; and the publications of the enforcement sector's regulator and trade bodies. Anything found is corrected by hand and the pages touched get a fresh reviewed date. The site has no automatic content and nothing on it is written or changed by a machine.

Reporting an error

If a statement, fee or date is wrong or out of date, use the contact route on hceo.com and quote the page address and the sentence concerned. Confirmed errors are corrected in the next monthly check or sooner.
