Disbursements

  • Fee Terms

Costs reasonably incurred by an enforcement agent in the course of enforcement that are recoverable from the debtor in addition to the prescribed fees. Ordinary disbursements include costs such as locksmith fees and storage charges.

In practice

Disbursements are recoverable under Regulation 14 of the Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations 2014. They must be reasonably and actually incurred: the agent cannot claim for expenses that were not necessary. Common disbursements include locksmith charges for gaining re-entry (where the agent has a right of re-entry), removal and storage costs, and auctioneer fees.
