Court Issue Fee

  • Fee Terms

The fee payable to the court for issuing a claim, application, or enforcement process. Court fees are prescribed by the Civil Proceedings Fees Order 2008 (as amended) and vary depending on the type of application and the amount claimed.

In practice

For money claims, the issue fee is calculated on a sliding scale based on the claim value: for example, claims up to £300 cost £35, while claims over £200,000 cost £10,000. Additional fees apply for enforcement applications such as charging orders, third party debt orders, and attachment of earnings. Fee remission is available for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria.
